Longcase Clock

Product Description

Oak cased longcase clock made by the Ludlow based clockmaker Thomas Phillips. Born between 1791 and 1795 he was recorded working from 1828 to 1850.Ludlow is one of the border towns between England and Wales and is best known for its castle, now a ruin open to visitors.Ludlow is still a nice village for visitors, it has 3 restaurants with Michelin stars.

The clock has an eight day movement, strikes on the hour and has a painted face. The round faces are very popular in the Regency period , I think he must have made this clock early in his working career.
