A nice pair of carvers. The design for the pair can be attributed to Hepplewhite.
The arched shield back and vaseshaped moulded splat are finely carved with Prince of Wales feathers, acantbus and long leaves, and the square tapering legs.

In nice condition, reupholstered in a black velvet.[of course other options possible] A pair is very suitable for the head of a dining table or with a partners desk.
